Getting started
You can be inside your first workspace a minute from now. Sign up with Google, Apple or an email address, or look around first in a guest sandbox that needs no account at all.
This page walks you from the landing page to your first thing, then shows the other ways in: the phone app, an AI agent, and an invitation from someone else.
Create your account
The landing page at everythings.app offers three buttons side by side: Continue with Google, Continue with Apple and Continue with email. Google and Apple create your account on the spot the first time you use them. Email takes one more step.
Google or Apple
Choose the button, pick your account on Google's or Apple's page, and you come straight back signed in. Apple's button works in any browser. If you choose to hide your email from Apple, your account uses the private relay address Apple makes for you.
Email and password
Below the buttons, Don't have an account? Sign up opens the sign-up form. Fill in Full Name, Email, Password and Password Confirmation, then press Sign up.
A password needs at least 8 characters, with a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter and a digit. Your name needs at least 3 characters.
Confirm your email
After you sign up, Everythings emails you a link to confirm the address. Open it and you are signed in and taken to your first workspace.
Sign in next time
Use the same button you signed up with. For an email account, Continue with email opens the sign-in form: your Email and Password, then Sign in. Once you are signed in, the landing page sends you straight to your default workspace.
Forgot your password
- Choose Forgot password? on the sign-in form.
- Enter your Email on the Reset Password page and press Send link.
- Open the link in the email, type the new password twice, and press Update password.
For privacy, the page says the email was sent whether or not an account uses that address.
Try it without an account
Under the sign-in buttons, the line Don't have an account? ends with try it without an account. Choose it and you are inside a sandbox a moment later, signed in as a guest.
What you get
Two workspaces of your own, ready to change however you like:
- π§ͺ Sandbox, a workspace with things already in it to open, edit, nest, mark and delete. It opens first.
- π€ Agent workflow, a copy of the template people use with AI agents, with its task lists, plans and How to use guide. Switch to it from the workspace switcher at the top left.
Choosing try it without an account again in the same browser brings you back to the same sandbox.
What a guest can't do
A guest account is for trying the app on your own, so a few things wait until you sign up:
- sharing: inviting people, or making a public link to a thing
- connecting an AI agent or creating an access token
- uploading images and files
- adding an AI provider key, which AI Mode needs
- billing and the Plus plan
- notifications, including push on a phone and Slack messages
The account menu leaves out Settings and Billing for a guest, and the π bell does not appear.
Keep your sandbox
While you are a guest, a bar across the top reads Sandbox: kept for 24 hours. Sign up to keep it.
- Press Sign up in the bar. A dialog titled Keep your sandbox opens.
- Enter your Email and a Password (the same rules as the sign-up form) and press Sign up.
Your guest account becomes a regular account, so both workspaces and everything you did in them stay exactly where they are, and the bar goes away. If Everythings needs to confirm the address first, the dialog says it sent you a link: open it to finish, then set your password with Forgot password? on the sign-in page.
After 24 hours
Guest accounts older than 24 hours are deleted, together with their workspaces and everything in them. Sign up before then to keep your work.
Your first workspace
A workspace holds a tree of things. The first time you sign in with nothing to open, Everythings creates a workspace called Personal for you and opens it.
The Welcome tour
Personal starts with the Welcome tour: a few things that show what a workspace can hold. Read them, change them, or delete them and make the workspace your own. The phone app does the same on your first sign-in there.
When you start somewhere else
- Signed up through an invitation? You get no Personal workspace. A welcome screen lists your pending invitation instead (see below).
- Signed up through an agent, for example by connecting Everythings in Claude? Your Personal workspace starts from the Agent workflow template, which is what an agent works in.
- Came from the sandbox? Your Sandbox and Agent workflow workspaces are your first workspaces.
Start another workspace
Open the workspace switcher at the top left and choose Add Workspace. Name it and pick what it starts from: Welcome, Blank or Agent workflow. If you own no workspace yet, the form picks Welcome for you; otherwise it picks Blank. The Free plan holds 3 workspaces of your own. Everything about creating and styling a workspace is on Workspaces.
A tour of the screen
A workspace opens as a grid of tiles, one per thing, over the workspace's wallpaper. Here is what sits around it.
| Where | What it does |
|---|---|
| Workspace switcher (top left) | Shows the workspace's name. Click it and a panel slides in with every workspace you own or belong to, plus Add Workspace. The gear on the current workspace's row opens Workspace Settings. |
| Logo (top center) | The workspace's logo, or its emoji when it has no logo. |
| Search field | Click it to search every workspace you can open (it reads Search all workspaces). Once you add an AI provider key in Settings, it also offers an AI Mode tab. See Find things. |
| Tiles | One per thing at this level. Click a tile to open the thing. A Faves tile appears once you star a thing, and a π₯ Inbox tile appears while an agent waits on an answer from you. |
| β (under the grid) | Adds a thing (New thing (+)). The + key does the same. |
| Trash bar (bottom) | Appears while the workspace's Trash holds something, with Restore all and Empty. |
| π Bell (top right) | Invitations and activity from shared workspaces and your agents. It appears only when there is something in it. See Notifications. |
| Your picture (top right) | The account menu: the light and dark theme switch, Settings, Billing and Sign Out. |
Ctrl K (β K on a Mac) opens quick search from anywhere, and Ctrl Alt β β steps between workspaces. Every shortcut is on Keyboard shortcuts.
Add your first thing
A thing is one item in the tree: a name, an icon and Markdown content. Any thing can hold sub-things of its own.
- Click the β under the grid, or press
+. - Type a Name. Click the icon to pick an emoji or upload an image.
- Write the content. Type
/for headings, lists, checklists, tables, images and more. - Press the πΎ button (or
Ctrl Enter) to save. The new tile joins the grid.
To put a thing inside another, open the outer thing and use the β under its sub-things. Drag tiles to reorder them, or drop one onto another to nest it.
What next
Things covers editing, nesting, duplicating and Trash. Writing content covers the editor, and Marks covers the emoji that say where each thing stands.
Get the phone app
Everythings runs on iPhone and Android with the same account, the same workspaces and push notifications.
- iPhone: Everythings on the App Store
- Android: Everythings on Google Play
Open the app and sign in the way you signed up: Continue with Google, Sign in with email, or on iPhone Continue with Apple. Your workspaces are waiting. The phone adds things of its own, like sharing to Everythings from other apps and voice input; see The phone app.
Connect an agent
The third way in is through an AI agent. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude Code and other agents that speak MCP can read and write your workspaces, and they see the same tree you browse.
In Claude, open Everythings in the connector directory and click Connect. The Everythings sign-in that follows works with an existing account or creates one. Someone who signs up this way gets a Personal workspace laid out for agent work, with Agent tasks, Human tasks, Plans and a How to use guide.
Every agent and what it can do: Connect an agent.
Join a workspace you were invited to
When someone shares a workspace with you, an email arrives with the subject β(their name) invited you to (workspace) on Everythingsβ and a Join button. The invitation lasts 7 days.
- Press the button in the email. A page opens with Continue with Google, Continue with Apple and Sign up with email, and a Sign in link if you already have an account.
- Sign up or sign in with the same address the invitation went to. That is how Everythings finds your invitation.
- A new account starts on a Welcome to Everythings screen that lists it under Pending invitations. An existing account finds it in the π bell. Choose Accept and the workspace joins your switcher. From the welcome screen it also opens right away.

Questions
Do I need an account to look around?
No. On the landing page, choose try it without an account and you get a guest sandbox with two workspaces to play in for 24 hours. Sign up from the bar at the top to keep them.
I was invited, but I don't see the invitation.
Sign in with the exact address the invitation went to. If you sign in with Apple and chose to hide your email, Apple gives Everythings a different, private relay address, so the invitation can't find you. Ask the owner to invite the address you sign in with, or to press Resend if the email never arrived.
The link in my email says it expired.
Each link works once. A used or stale one brings you back to the landing page with βThat email link has expired or was already used. Sign in with your password, or request a new link.β For a password reset, choose Forgot password? on the sign-in page again.
Why didn't I get a Personal workspace?
Everythings makes one only for someone with nothing to open yet. If you signed up through an invitation, you start on a welcome screen with the invitation instead; accepting it opens the shared workspace. If you signed up through an agent, your first workspace starts from the Agent workflow template. You can create your own at any time with Add Workspace in the switcher.
Is it the same account on the phone?
Yes. Sign in on the phone with the same Google or Apple account or the same email, and you see the same workspaces. See The phone app.
What does it cost?
Everything on this page works on the Free plan. Plus raises the limits on workspaces, members, things and storage. See Plans & limits and the pricing page.
